Peas - Love - Happiness (Paper Smooches)

Mornin' crafty chums!

How are you? All busy crafting I hope! I'm a bit busy with commissions at the moment, so I thought I would pop in and show you this little make I did for a friend's birthday. It's very CAS and very cute.

What you need...

Stamps: Vegtastic - Paper Smooches
Dies: Vegtastic Icons - Paper Smooches
Card stock: white
Promarkers: Bright Green, Grass, Lime Zest
Ink pad: Licorice Vintage Ink - Ranger
Adhesives

What you do...

Stamp the peas onto white card, colour in and cut out using the relevant die.
Trim the sides from a 15cm square scalloped card.
Mat the peas centrally near the top with foam tape.
Stamp the sentiment underneath in black ink.

Is this too cute or what? Keeping the card completely white really makes those peas 'pop' ('scuse the pun).

So, I'd better say ta-ta for now and get back to those commissions :o) Thank you for stopping by and I'll be back soon xx

Cartoon Happy Hippo Holding A Sign (Ken Benner) - Stitchy Bear's/Incy Wincy

Good evening lovelies!

We have another fab challenge for you over at Incy Wincy, this week it's 'Exotic Animals' and our lovely sponsor is Stitchy Bear's Digi Outlet.

There are some brilliant designers on the Stitchy Bear site and I chose 'Cartoon Happy Hippo Holding a Sign' by Ken Benner.

I've made the hippo purple - don't ask me why, I just he'd look good purple! :o) and I added a sentiment to the sign.

Here is the cheeky chappy...

Illustration by Ken Benner - coloured by me!
What you need...

Card stock: white
Promarkers: Aubergine, Fuchsia Pink, Ice Grey 1, Peony, Purple
Adhesives

What you do...

Re-size the image, add a sentiment to the sign, print onto white card and colour in.
Mat onto a top fold A6 blank so the hippo is at the bottom.

That's it! Done! I think this makes quite a good 'manly' card, as you know they can be notoriously difficult to make for.

Click on the badge below to take you to the Stitchy Bear's Digi Outlet or click here to take you direct to the Ken Benner section.

My talented teamies have come up with some awesome makes this week, hop on over to Incy Wincy to have a peek. We look forward to seeing all your lovely entries!

Sunflower Seeds - Using Cricut® Explore

Hello peepsicles!

Before I show you my 'make' I'd like to say hello and thank you to all my recent new followers. I hope you like what I create and maybe take away with you a little inspiration!

Some thing a bit different from me this time. Last week I sowed some sunflowers and I thought that giving someone a packet of sunflower seeds in a lovely gift bag with printed instructions would make a nice little present.

This is the end result...

What you need...

Digital die image: Sunflower (#M41232) - Stretch Your Imagination Summer Cartridge; Gift Bag (#M17D795) - Creative Bug Cartridge; Graduate Label (#M67822) Summer Soirees Cartridge - Cricut®
Font: Dog Heaven - Lyrical Letters 2 Cartridge - Cricut®
Card stock: black, bright yellow, brown, green (single sided), white
Cricut® Vinyl - Olive
Cricut® Pen - Sour Apple
Gems: clear
Ribbon: yellow
Adhesives

What you do...

Select the images and add to the Design Space.
You will need six sunflowers.
Re size all the images to suit.
Insert a text box, type the instructions, edit with Dog Heaven font and place it over one of the white labels. 'Attach' it so that the text will be written directly onto the label. The software will tell you when to insert the pen into the holder.
Insert another text box and type 'Sunflower Seeds', again edit with the Dog Heaven font.
Cut out the sunflowers in yellow, brown and black card, the gift bag in green card, the label layers in brown and white card (one will be done with the writing) and the 'Sunflower Seeds' in Olive vinyl.
Assemble to gift bag, sunflowers and labels.
Attach the 'Sunflower Seeds' label to the front with three sunflowers.
Place the instructions label on the back of the bag along with two sunflowers.
Thread yellow ribbon through the holes in the top of the bag, before tying punch a hole in the remaining sunflower and thread onto the ribbon. Tie in a bow at the front.
Add a gem to each sunflower to finish.

It's so amazing the the Explore can write out such intricate lettering, it's fascinating to watch it do it.

If you don't have any single sided colour card stock, cover the scalloped portion with a coordinating patterned paper.

I do hope you like this little project, I had such fun creating it. Thank you for stopping by and I'll be back soon, ttfn! x

Sunshiny Day - Using Cricut® Explore

Good evenin' peeps!

I hope you all have had a good and productive day!

I recently made a bright and cheery card using the Explore. I adore these images, they are sooo adorable!

Anyhoo! Here is the little card I created...

What you need...

Digital die image: Sun (#M45F4E), Rainy Day (#M438E8) - Simply Charmed Cartridge  - Cricut®
Font: Be Free - Creative Memories Be Young Cartridge - Cricut®
Card stock: black, bright yellow, grey, pale aqua, pink, white
Cricut® Vinyl - Midnight
Gems: clear, yellow
Adhesives

What you do...

Select the images and add to the Design Space.
Hide the raindrops from the cloud image.
Cut out the sun in yellow, pink and black card and the cloud in white, pink and black card.
Add the sentiment and edit with the Creative Memories - Be Free font.
Cut out the sentiment in Midnight vinyl.
Cover an A6 white landscape blank with a slightly smaller piece of pale aqua card.
Assemble the sun and cloud and fix to the lower left.
Stick the sentiment just above the sun and cloud to the right.
Finish with a few gems.

Is this ultra cute or what? I'm sure this little card would cheer anyone up! I love the images on the Simply Charmed cartridge, the hard part is deciding which one to use.

I hope you like this little cutie. I'll be back soon with another make. Thanks for popping in - ttfn! x

Your Wings Are Showing - Waltzingmouse Stamps

Good heevnin' crafty chums!

Not long back after a fab Zumba workout and a good laugh to boot - thank you Zumba Jools!

This is the third and final part of the feather projects I did for the May issue of Crafts Beautiful using Waltzingmouse Stamps.

What you need...

Card stock: lime
Patterned papers: Kraft in Color 6x6 Paper Pad - Doodlebug
Promarkers
Ink pad: Onyx Black - Versafine
Fine liner: black
Gel pen: white
Gems: clear
Adhesives

What you do...

1 With the six coloured markers, create a rainbow block of colour approximately 10cm square onto white card, blending the colours. Die cut a 7.5cm circle from it and cut in half.

2 Stamp three large solid feathers and four small solid feathers in black ink and cut out. Arrange the feathers as shown; secure the tail feathers on the reverse. Cut a small slit on the body, push the ends of the small feathers through the slit and secure with glue. Draw a simple eye and stick a small triangle of black card to the top right.

3 Cover a white 13.5cm square blank with a slightly smaller square of yellow striped paper. Hand cut scallops along one edge of white card 9cm x 13.5cm; stick a piece of turquoise wood grain paper to the back of the scallops and trim. Adhere to the bottom of the blank.

4 Attach the bird to the white section with foam tape. Doodle some legs, a border around the edge of the blank and above the scallops with black fine liner and white gel pen. Stamp the sentiment at the top left; add a few gems to the striped section.

There are oodles of gorgeous stamp sets available from the Waltzingmouse Stamp store, click here to take you to stamp heaven!

Under Umbrella - Sami Stamps/Incy Wincy

Happy Monday lovelies!

We have a fantastic challenge for you over at Incy Wincy this week - The Great Outdoors! and our sponsor is the fabulous Sami Stamps.

I chose a gorgeous design called Under Umbrella. I love the little puss cat leaning against her leg. So with out further ado, here is my make...

Image by Sami Stamps - Coloured in by me!

What you need...

Digital stamp: Under Umbrella - Sami Stamps
Card stock: white, pale aqua
Promarkers: Amber, Ice Grey 1, Ice Grey 4, Leaf Green, Lemon, Sand Dune
Gems: clear
Rub-on sentiment: hello
Adhesives

What you do...

Re-size the image, print onto white card and colour in.
Cover the top of a white 13.5cm square blank with pale aqua card.
Hand cut scallops across the top of the image and mat onto the blank, trimming away any excess.
Add a sentiment and a few gems to finish.

So cute! I decided to keep the colours bright and fresh.

What better way to brighten up a dull, wet Spring day? Wear orange wellies! I don't have any orange wellies, but I do have some with chickens on them - seriously! When I was little I got a pair of bright yellow shiny wellies and a new nightie for Christmas, I went to bed with the new nightie on and the yellow wellies. I only stopped wearing those wellies when they became too small - so gutted!

Click on the Sami Stamps badge below to take you to her store, she also has an Etsy store too.

The Incy Wincy DT have done some beautiful makes this week for your inspiration, why not pop in and have a look?

I'll be back tomorrow with part 3 of my feather projects from the May issue of Crafts Beautiful.

Better go, the chickens are ready to be tucked in for the night - I get sworn at if I leave it too late - the language that comes out of those little beaks!

Thanks for popping by! xx

Fine Feather - Waltzingmouse Stamps

Hello peeps!

I hope you all have had a thoroughly enjoyable weekend! I've been in the garden all day, tidying and planting, of course Babs, Bren and Hattie all decided to 'help'. No sooner I plant something they come along and dig it up. The back garden looks like we're growing tubes of chicken wire.

I've got the second instalment of the feather projects I did for last month's issue of Crafts Beautiful (May) using Waltzingmouse Stamps.

What you need...

Card stock: lime
Patterned papers: Kraft in Color 6x6 Paper Pad - Doodlebug
Promarkers
Ink pad: Onyx Black - Versafine
Baker's twine: black
Adhesives

What you do...

1 Starting with the Magenta marker, flick the chisel point from left to right onto white card until you have a block of colour approximately 2cm x 6.5cm. Do the next block with Mandarin, but go from right to left. Continue with the remaining colours, alternating the starting point. Allow the colours to overlap slightly.

2 With the Magenta at the top, trim the card to 9cm x 14cm so the colours run down the centre. Stamp five feathers over the colour blocks in black ink. Stamp the sentiment underneath.

3 Create a white, top fold A6 portrait blank; mat on to it a slightly smaller piece of bright green card so the top edge is in line with the fold. Attach the feather panel to the blank, again in line with the fold. Wrap two lengths of black twine around the top of the blank and tie in a bow at the left.

Don't forget, there is lots of freebies and inspiration on the Crafts Beautiful website. Check out Waltzingmouse Stamps for some truly gorgeous stamp sets. There is also a gallery showing the Design Team makes - awesome.

Okay lovelies, I'm going to say ta ta for now, but I'll be back soon with the new Incy Wincy challenge and the last part of the feather projects.

Thank you for calling by! xx :o)

Earned Your Wings - Waltzingmouse Stamps

Happy Friday everyone!

In last month's issue of Crafts Beautiful (May) I did a lovely, bright set of feather themed cards using a beautiful set of stamps by Waltzingmouse Stamps.

This will be one of three posts showcasing each of the cards featured.

Here is the first card...

What you need...

Card stock: pale grey
Patterned papers: Kraft in Color 6x6 Paper Pad - Doodlebug
Promarkers
Ink pad: Onyx Black - Versafine
Gel pen: white
Button: white
Baker's twine: black
Gems: clear
Adhesives

What you do...

Cover a white A6 landscape top fold blank with pale grey card, mat a 9cm x 11cm piece of grey hexagon paper flush with the top right corner. Stamp the sentiment in the lower right corner of the paper.

Create two banners, one 2.5cm x 10cm in turquoise wood grain paper and one 2cm x 8.5cm in bright green spotty paper. Hand cut scallops along one edge of pink gingham paper 4cm x 9cm, line up to the left edge of the hexagon paper and secure in place. Overlap the join with the banners.

Use the Bright Green, Magenta and Turquoise markers to create three 5cm x 10cm blocks of colour. Over stamp each with the second largest feather with black ink, highlight the quills with white gel pen. Cut out and fix to the blank with foam tape, as shown.

Thread two lengths of black twine through a white button and tie in bow. Glue to the end of the feathers and finish with a few gems.

Lovely eh?

This stamp set is so wonderful to work with and it boasts all different kinds of feathers in all shapes and sizes. There are some lovely sentiments included too. Click on the image below to take you Waltzingmouse Stamps.

Fine Feathers - Waltzingmouse Stamps
If you are ever stuck on finding a piece of card to match whatever you are colouring in with Promarkers (or Copics), use the chisel end to colour a section of white smooth card big enough for you to use. As alcohol based markers tend not to leave colouring lines, it's a quick and easy way (and cheaper) to match up card.

Check out the Crafts Beautiful website for lots of free image and patterned paper downloads, plus there are lots of hints, tips, ideas and templates to be found. All for free!

Thank you for calling by and I'll be back with the next feather themed card soon. TTFN! xx

Wix Moonlighter - Lacy Sunshine/Incy Wincy

Good afternoon peeps!

It's a very wet, and I mean very wet day here in Norfolk. It started so well this morning and now it has gone and spoiled itself.

I'm supposed to be nipping into Cromer later. I dropped my car off for new tyres and brakes this morning. I think I will pick it up and come straight home, no point in getting wet for the sake of a watch battery!

Onto important matters. I managed to get my Incy Wincy DT make photographed this morning. This week the challenge is 'Mom's the word'. I understand that in the US, Canada and Australia it's coming up to their Mother's Day. We have a fantastic sponsor for you - Lacy Sunshine! The oh so lucky winner can get to choose 3 digis from her shop.

I chose Wix Moonlighter and I did the card so that it could also do as a birthday card. Here is the little sweetie...

What you need...

Digital stamp: Wix Moonlighter - Lacy Sunshine
Card stock: white
Promarkers: Arctic Blue, Azure, Blush, Buttercup, Eggnog, French Navy, Fresh Bloom, Ice Grey 1, Ice Grey 3, Ice Grey 5, Midnight Blue, Pineapple Crush, Pink Carnation, Powder Blue, Sand Dune, Sky Blue, Sunflower
Gems: blues
Adhesives

What you do...

Re-size the image to suit and add a sentiment.
Print onto white card and colour in.
Mat onto an A6 blank and trim any excess.
Add a few gems to finish.

Of course you needn't just do this for Mother's Day. I'm sure any girl would love this image. Click on the badge below to take you to the Lacy Sunshine shop.

There are some wonderful inspirational cards by the Design Teamies. Why not pop on over to Incy Wincy for a peek? Good luck if you decide to enter!

Thanks for popping in and happy crafting! xx :o)

Old Bird

Heevnin' chums!

Phew! What a week. I seemed to have lost several days along the way and have got really behind on things. I think I am now catching up.

One of the things that I got behind with was my DT make for this week's challenge over at Incy Wincy. I finally got the card made today, so I will photograph it tomorrow and post it up.

I'd like to share with you an amusing little card (well I think it is) that I made for a friend's birthday. I used the oh so popular stamp set by Tim Holtz, Bird Crazy.

What you need...

Stamps: Tim Holtz Bird Crazy (CMS212) - Stamper Anonymous; Bird Assortment - Inkadinkado
Card stock: white
Promarkers: Cool Aqua, Ice Grey 1, Island Lagoon, Marine, Sleigh Bell
Ink pad: Onyx Black - Versafine
Adhesives

What you do...

Stamp the bird onto white card and colour in.
Stamp the sentiment just above the bird on the right.
Trim so that it is slightly smaller than an A6 top fold, portrait blank, then mat onto the blank with foam tape.

Ta dah! Done!

This stamp set sells out everywhere very quickly, so if you like the look of this handsome little fella, then I would get browsing and purchase a set of these fab stamps before they sell out again.

So, I'm going to sign off for now, still a few things to catch up with, but I'll be back soon. Thanks for dropping in - ttfn! x
